Tax IDs & invoices (VAT / NIP)¶
Need your company's tax ID — VAT, NIP, or your country's equivalent — on your invoices for accounting? You can. This page explains where to add it and how invoices work for both one-time purchases and subscriptions.
Who issues your invoice¶
Payments are handled by Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd), our merchant of record. That means Paddle — not EchoRelay — is the seller on your invoice and the party that handles sales tax / VAT. Your invoice, any tax line, and the reverse-charge treatment all come from them, which is why your tax ID is entered on Paddle's checkout rather than in your EchoRelay profile.
EchoRelay only ever stores your email with Paddle. Your company name, billing address, and tax ID are added by you at checkout and held by Paddle.
Add your tax ID at checkout¶
When you buy — whether it's credits or a subscription — Paddle's checkout has an option to add business / company details. Expand it and enter:
- your company name,
- your billing address, and
- your tax ID (VAT number, NIP, etc.).
Paddle validates the number and applies the correct tax treatment for your location — for example, reverse charge (0% VAT, noted on the invoice) for a valid EU VAT number from a business in another member state. The details then appear on the invoice for that purchase.
Enter it the first time
The cleanest path is to add your company details on your first purchase. Once they're on file, Paddle pre-fills them on every later checkout, so they flow onto future invoices automatically.
One-time purchases (credit top-ups & packs)¶
Each top-up or credit pack is its own invoice. Add your business details at checkout and they appear on that invoice. Because you've saved them, the next top-up's invoice carries them too.
Subscriptions (plans & add-ons)¶
For a recurring plan or add-on, the company details you enter at the first checkout are stored on the subscription and reused on every renewal invoice automatically — you don't re-enter them each month.
Changed company, address, or tax ID? Update it in the billing portal (below); the next renewal invoice picks up the new details.
Update details & download invoices anytime¶
From your panel:
- Invoice history — Billing lists your invoices; open Billing → Invoice history for the full list.
- Billing portal — Billing → Payment methods → Manage opens Paddle's portal, where you can update your company name, address, and tax ID, manage cards, and download PDF invoices for any purchase.
Missing or wrong tax ID on a past invoice¶
An invoice is finalised at the moment of payment, so the surest way to get your tax ID on it is to enter it before you pay.
Forgot, or need a correction?
If a past invoice is missing your tax ID or has the wrong company details, email [email protected] from the address on your account with the invoice ID and the correct details. We'll ask Paddle to amend or reissue it where their rules allow — sooner is better, especially for one-time invoices.
For prices (always shown net — tax is added at checkout based on your location), see the pricing page. For how credits, plans, and refunds work, see Credits & billing.
