Credits & billing

Manage everything money-related in your panel under Billing. This page explains how it works; for current prices and plan limits see the pricing page (always the source of truth).

How credits work

EchoRelay runs on credits. Each delivered call draws from your balance. You hold two separate pools:

  • Live — your paid credits, used by your er_live_… key.
  • Test — a free testing allowance, used by your er_test_… key, with a lower rate limit. Great for development; it never touches your paid balance.

Topping up & plans

  • Top up prepaid credits any time from Billing → Top up.
  • Plans add a recurring allowance plus a higher steady rate limit. Compare them on the pricing page and start/change a plan from Billing.
  • Add-ons (extra rate capacity, team seats, longer history) are also under Billing.

Spending order

A delivered call spends your recurring plan allowance first, then your prepaid credits — so prepaid top-ups are always there as a safety buffer.

"Payment required" (402)

A 402 means the relevant pool is empty. The error response names which pool ran out and points you at the fix:

  • Live pool empty → top up credits or your plan will refill on its next cycle.
  • Test pool empty → it resets automatically on its cycle; or switch to live.

Top up at Billing → Top up and calls resume immediately.

Invoices & receipts

Find invoices under Billing. Payments are handled by our payment provider (Paddle), who is the merchant of record — your invoice and any tax come from them.

Cancelling

You can cancel a plan or add-on from Billing; the confirmation page explains what changes and when. Prepaid credits you've already bought stay on your balance.
